Driving: I 495 to Van Dorn Street Exit. South on Van Dorn Street. Left on Franconia Road. Take a right into Edison High School.

Other Deets: Trail is A to B. Stroller/dog friendly. Bring dry bag , plan on shiggy (even on walkers). Drag any christmas trees you find on trail with you. Bon-fire and food at the end.

This weeks DCH4 trail will be joining in on the DC Full Moon festivities. The Full Moon’s Gathering of the Clans will once again be taking on a spirit of friendly competition. Cum test your athletic and drinking abilities (more of the latter) at Hash Olympdicks 2018 hosted by EWH3! Gather a team of four to test your mettle in three Winter Olympics themed events and win glory for your kennel!

Here are the events in no particular order: Remember to gather the best team of four and WIN DCH4 THAT GOLD!!!

– Beer Can Hocky: Relay style, each team member will shotgun a beer, crush the can, and use it as a puck to maneuver around obstacles to the shot line. Shoot your can into the “net” to avoid a time penalty for littering on trail. Team with the best overall time wins.

– Hashy Biathlon: Relay style, team members will help strap 2x4s to each other’s feet and make their way around three checkpoints and then shotgun a beer. You’ll then take aim with a Nerf gun at 5 empty beer cans. Each can knocked off the railing gets you a time deduction! Team with the best overall time wins.

– Down-Down Curling: Head to Head (who said head?) cumpetition. Each team member will battle a member of the opposing team on a table-top curling game. Take a down-down and shoot your puck, 4 total for each member. Team with the best overall score wins. Ties will result in a one member death match.

Start: Behind the new town houses being constructed on the other side of Glenallan Ave. Map yourself to 12619 Macaulay St. Silver Spring, MD. And look for wankers

Details: Trail is A – D with runners and walkers split. There will be multiple shot checks and special checks. Bag vehicle will be provided. I would also bring a dry bag, just in case.

Driving Directions: From the Beltway, take exit 23 Kenilworth Ave. North toward Greenbelt. Go about a half mile and turn right on Crescent Rd. at the light. Go about a mile and turn left on Gardenway at the stop sign. 2 Gardenway Unit S is on the right. Park and hash.

Metro: Take the Green Line to Greenbelt Station. Catch the G12 bus toward New Carrollton at 1:33. Get out at Gardenway & Ridge Rd. Find the house and hash.

Details: One Beer check and eleven Shot checks as we stroll around Takoma Park for two miles Christmas caroling. On after will be at Spelunker’s and LNDT house (8010 Piney Branch rd. Silver Spring, MD – only a few blocks from the start). We will provide a full meal and a keg of Harp Premium Lager.
